WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN HAVING A WEB SITE
DESIGNED AND MANAGED

When you hire someone to design and manage a web site for you, you own the site, its contents, the domain name and hosting information, passwords, etc. These are not the property of the webmaster.

The webmaster should consult with you to get an idea of the type of site you'd like, how it might look, what type of features you want, etc. You don't have to have a "template" style site where your information is just plugged into a generic format.

Choose someone you can talk to, who you feel will listen to you and is interested in helping promote your site.

You should expect changes and updates to made in a timely fashion. It doesn't take long to make changes to a site, so don't put up with more than one business day for changes to take effect unless there's an unusual reason.
